"The Crown" is almost at the finish line with its sixth and final season to wrap up before the year ends.
The Emmy-winning blockbuster series, which presents a fictionalized account of the life of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, will debut in two parts on the streaming service in the coming months.
"Season 6 will continue with Princess Diana’s story, with the first four episodes exploring the events surrounding her tragic death in 1997," Netflix said in a press release. "In the final six episodes, we’ll see Queen Elizabeth II (Staunton) reflect on her reign and look ahead to a time when her successors will take the throne."
The new season will cover major royal events from 1997-2005, including the wedding of King Charles III and Camilla, Diana's relationship with Dodi Fayed, the Queen's Golden Jubilee and the budding university romance between Prince William and Kate Middleton.
